The SHAPE curriculum helps to engage learners in thoughtful learning that sticks with them even after they leave the classroom. It is a combination of life skills required to help learners take responsibility for their own lives, and challenge them to begin to take the actual steps necessary to start working towards achieving their goals and dreams.
SHAPE is a combination of life skill lessons designed to help learners build capacity to that would strengthen their coping abilities to counter environmental stress while they transit to adulthood.
SELF-AWARENESS: “No amount of self-improvement can make up for the lack of self-awareness.” We help learners to find the real self and engage instead of inventing a new self.
HAPPINESS: We will help each learner to understand that being authentically happy starts with the realization that he/she is both the source and the cause of his/her own well-being.
ACCEPTANCE: We help learners assent to the reality of a situation, recognizing a process/ condition without attempting to protest, instead, help them learn how to work with their parents/guardian to design how to invest their energy, time and money to feel the full worth of self.
PERSONAL DEDICATION: We help learners understand why it is important to commit to hard work and add color to their lives. This will prepare learners to build capacity to act with confidence, communicate clearly and develop problem solving skills based on their temperament.
ENGAGEMENT: Since “no man can be an island”, we help learners understand the power of 2 or more, and etiquette required for successful collaboration to produce desired results generally.
