Skills development is very essential in getting a decent work because it helps you to become more effective and efficient (i.e. faster, more precise, more contextually aware, and more). It is the process of identifying your skill gaps, and developing and honing these skills. It is important because your skills determine you level of success. Simply because it enables one to gain access to dexterity, knowledge and ability, career ethics and good character.
To achieve your goals, you must be able to identify the gaps in your skills, and invest in developing the skills. Skills can often be acquired through traditional home-based activities and education, in mainstream vocational training centres and as an apprentice with an organization doing things around your choice career or in your area of interest. Different types of skills are essential for successful work. These skills include foundation skills, technical and professional skills, business management skills and core life skills. Having the opportunity to acquire a combination of all four types of skills will ensure you have greater success in finding decent work and earning an income.
